<p>A cylinder head (14) can be removed from a cylinder block (1) even if a timing gear case (13) is kept fastened to the front end of a cylinder block (1) for a V type engine, a cylinder head (14) is kept fastened to straddle the upper ends of the cylinder block (1) and the timing gear case (13), a head cover (15) is kept fastened to the upper end of the cylinder head (14) and the timing gear case (13) is kept fastened to the cylinder block (1). Furthermore, cam gears (21, 22) and a cam idle gear (20) fitted over a cam shaft attached to the cylinder head (14) are pivoted on the cylinder head (14) so that the components of a valve operating system can be attached to the cylinder head (14) before it is fastened to the cylinder block (1). An engine body structure exhibiting excellent workability during maintenance work and high reliability during use is attained.</p> |
