<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage detection circuit and a discharge lamp driving system. <P>SOLUTION: The voltage detection circuit is provided with a voltage acquisition circuit, a large voltage detection circuit, and small voltage detection circuit respectively connected to the voltage acquisition circuit. The voltage acquisition circuit converts an AC signal to be passed through a lamp group to a voltage signal. The large voltage detection circuit detects whether or not the AC signal to be passed through the lamp group is too large via the voltage signal so as to generate a large voltage signal when the AC signal is too large. The small voltage detection circuit detects whether or not the AC signal to be passed through the lamp group is too small via the voltage signal so as to generate a small voltage signal when the AC signal is too small.
