PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation assist device for properly reducing any unnecessary reminder. SOLUTION: This operation assist device for reminding an operator according to the location of its own vehicle is provided with a calculation means for detecting the location of its own vehicle, and for calculating a distance ¾D¾ between the detected location of its own vehicle and a predetermined special attention needed object; a detection means for detecting the traveling directionθof its own vehicle; and a reminding means for reminding the operator when a relation between the distance ¾D¾ and its traveling directionθsatisfies predetermined conditions. The reminding means gradually increases the angle range of the traveling directionθin which reminder is more allowed according as the distance ¾D¾ is decreased from the direction of the special attention needed object viewed from its own vehicle to the opposite direction of the pertinent direction (1), and does not remind the operator regardless of the traveling directionθwhen the distance ¾D¾ is larger than a first predetermined value (a) (2), but reminds the operator regardless of the traveling directionθwhen the distance ¾D¾ is smaller than a second predetermined value b(
