PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet processor for reducing sheet rejects by reversely rotating a pick-out rotor to repositioning paper sheets stuck into the pick-out rotor when stopping a pick-out device, and to provide its pick-out control method. SOLUTION: In the paper sheet processor, when the stop of the pick-out device is instructed, a stop request is given to suction air from a pick-out part 20 and the pick-out rotor 21 and a back-up plate 11 is moved 10 mm down. However, the pick-out rotor 21 is continuously rotated with inertia, and so the paper sheets P being picked out are put into the condition of being hung down from the pick-out rotor 21. Then, until the paper sheet P on the upper face reaches a pick-out position, the backup plate 11 is moved up and the pick-out rotor 21 is reversely rotated once (Fig. 3 (B)). After the reverse rotation, a hang-down detecting sensor S2 detects the hang-down of the paper sheets P. When the hang-down is detected, further reverse rotation is carried out.
