PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perimeter monitoring device for a vehicle capable of making it known to a driver of the vehicle immediately before starting that there is an object near the vehicle existing at a dead angle from the driver's seat. SOLUTION: In the vehicle 1, an on-vehicle camera 11 is mounted to a door mirror 2, and the image of left side periphery of the vehicle at the dead angle from the driver can be displayed on a display device 16. When the driver rides on the vehicle and moves a shift lever from a P position to a D position, and simultaneously a motion sensor 12 detects a moving object at the periphery of left side of the vehicle, the screen of the display device is switched to display the image by the on-vehicle camera 11.
