PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device which makes a processing unit record on videotape based on a recording schedule. SOLUTION: The method and device makes a processing unit record on videotape based on a recording schedule. (a) Service information containing schedule information on a current program and a following program provided in a digital broadcasting stream is obtained. (b) Regarding the current and following programs, it is determined whether there is a difference between the schedule information contained in the obtained service information and a program schedule database such as an EPG database. (c) It is determined whether at least one of the current and following programs is scheduled so as to be recorded on videotape based on a recording schedule. (d) When it is determined that the process (b) and the process (c) are truth, the recording schedule is corrected based on the difference in the process (b).
