PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead frame transfer method and a transfer device that improve the transfer speed and transfer accuracy of a lead frame intermittently transported on a guide rail at fixed intervals. SOLUTION: A feeding pin 40 is installed upstream from a positioning pin 30 in a lead frame transfer direction X for moving it up from and down to the guide rail 10, and also to move forward and backward in the lead frame transfer direction X; and a pin-driving mechanism 41 is installed to insert the feeding pin 40 into a center of a feeding hole 5 of the lead frame 1 in an extractable state, and moves the pin forward and backward in the feeding hole 5. The feeding pin 40, inserted into a hole 5 at a tail end of the lead frame, is moved forward, and an edge sensor 42 detects the point of time when the feeding pin that has come into contact with an inner peripheral edge of the hole 5; and the feeding pin 40 is moved back to the hole center and then moved forward again, and is further moved forward at fixed intervals P from the position coordinates of the hole inner peripheral edge detected by the edge sensor 42, thus transferring the lead frame 1 at a fixed pitch.
