<p>A microscope with an automatic focusing function has an illumination light source; an objective lens for collecting first light on an object to be examined, the first light being light emitted from the illumination light source; an illumination light source for causing the first light, reflected by the object and passed through the objective lens, to form an image; and a focus point detection section for detecting a positional displacement of a microtiter plate from the objective lens. The focus detection section has an automatic focusing mechanism having a light source for focus detection, the light source emitting focus detection light as second light; a focus detection light acquisition section for collecting the focus detection light; and a region setting section capable of setting a focus state determinable region at a desired position of the focus detection light acquisition section, the focus state determinable region being a region in which the state of focusing of the focus detection light acquired by the focus detection light acquisition section can be determined.</p> |
