An endoscope system has a two-step push button provided at an operation section of an endoscope; a first switch changed from OFF to ON by push operation of a first step of the push button and keeping the ON state after the first step; a second switch changed from OFF state to ON state by push operation of the second step of the push button; and a control device. The control device performs control to cause, when the first switch is ON, an air supply function to work, and cause, when the second switch is ON, a water supply function to work without causing the air supply function to work independent of the state of the first switch. Further, when the first switch has been changed from OFF to ON, unless the push button does not cause the first switch to change from ON to OFF within a predetermined time, the control section performs control to cause the air supply function to work with a delay by the predetermined time.
