COLOR SEPARATION PROCESSING METHOD, COLOR SEPARATION PROCESSOR, PROGRAM, AND MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate tone gradations in all dimensions of a color space of an LUT.

SOLUTION: A patch image generating means 101 divides an RGB space by the arbitrary number of steps and converts the RGB space into a CMYK space through the LUT to generate a patch image. A patch image colorimetric means 102 outputs the patch image on a recording medium by a printer and a colorimeter measures colors of the output image. Colorimetric values represented in an L*a*b* space independence on neither the RGB space nor the CMYK space are obtained as colorimetirc values. A linear space generating means 104 calculates an ideal space distribution in the color space of the LUT based upon the input colorimetric values. A color separation evaluated value calculating means 105 compares the calculated ideal space distribution in the color space of the LUT with actual measure data of the LUT obtained by a colorimetric value input means 103. A color separation evaluated value is calculated from the quantity of deviation between an ideal value and a measured value according to the comparison result.
