PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor in which sliding noise and rolling noise are suppressed when a handrail belt is circulatingly moved using a drive belt. SOLUTION: This passenger conveyor comprises a pair of balustrades 4 disposed on both sides of a plurality of endlessly connected and circulatingly moving step parts 2, the handrail belt 5 wrapped around the balustrades 4 and circulatingly moving, the drive belt 6 circulatingly moving in the same direction as the handrail belt 5 in contact with the inner peripheral surface 5b of the handrail belt 5 and transmitting a drive force to the handrail belt 5, and a drive belt driving mechanism 7 having a drive wheel body 20 rotatingly driven in contact with the surface of the drive belt 6 brought into contact with the handrail belt 5 and a pressurizing body 21 disposed at the position for holding the drive belt 6 by itself and the drive wheel body 20 and driving the drive belt 6.
