The thermometer has a temperature measuring unit with an integrated transmitter (12), and a temperature display unit with an integrated receiver connected via a radio communication, where the transmitter and a transmission-radio-interface are arranged in a head part (11) of the measuring unit. A long shaft that supports a temperature sensor is provided adjacent to the middle part of the measuring unit. The sensor and the display unit are provided in a separate manner and are accommodated in two units connected by the radio communication.
