<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of an erroneous image due to a drawback in the inside of an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: Structure of the image forming apparatus 1 roughly consists of a controller 10 and an IOT 20. A rasterizing section 12 of the controller 10 generates bit map data (color data) of each of colors Y, M, C, K from the image data, and embeds identification data indicating the color of each of the data and a page order into the color data. Color data output sections 14Y, 14M, 14C, 14K output color data in response to request signals from slave mechanical completions 22Y, 22M, 22C, 22K. In the IOT 20, the slave mechanical completions 22Y, 22M, 22C, 22K extract the identification data embedded in color data to verify whether the color of each of the color data and the page order are correct.
