ISONITRILE HYDROLASE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING AMINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new isonitrile hydrolase and to provide a new method for producing an amine using the isonitrile hydrolase.

SOLUTION: The isonitrile hydrolase comprises a nitrile hydratase. The method for producing an amine comprises forming an amine from isonitrile by using the nitrile hydratase as a catalyst. The nitrile hydratase is preferably composed of a nitrile hydratase derived from Rhodococcus sp.N771. The isonitrile is represented by general formula R-NC (R is preferably an i-butyl group or a t-butyl group).
