<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic appliance capable of displaying conformity certification information for indicating conformity to a predetermined standard without impairing a design property. <P>SOLUTION: The conformity certification information for indicating the conformity to an RoHS instruction by a public certifying organization is previously stored in a flash memory of a digital camera. When the power is turned on after a display mode is set in a power-off state, a through image is displayed on an LCD after the certification mark is displayed on an opening screen for a predetermined period of time. Further, when content information is transmitted from a cellular phone to the digital camera, the power is turned on in a display mode and a content list of an environmentally harmful material is displayed after the certification mark is displayed on the opening screen. Then, the through image is displayed afterward.
