COLOR FILTER, ITS PRODUCTION METHOD AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a color filter exhibiting an excellent characteristic in the expansion of a viewing field angle from an oblique direction by the optimum phase difference compensation in each picture element at high productivity.

SOLUTION: The method for producing a color filter comprises: a stage where black matrixes are formed on a transparent substrate; a stage where a plurality of colored picture element layers having prescribed retardation are formed between the black matrixes by an ink jet process; and a stage where each phase difference control layer is formed on the plurality of colored picture element layers corresponding to the respective retardation by an ink jet process.
