PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain inexpressive mass production of electro-optical crystals. SOLUTION: A ridge 50 is formed by grinding a surface of a wafer 1 coated with a resist 2 and an electrode 30 is vapor-deposited on the surface formed with the ridge 50. The electrode 30 on the upper surface of the ridge 50 is separated by a lift-off method to form electrodes 30a and 30b opposite to each other across the ridge 50. Thereby, a large amount of electro-optical elements 100 can be provided at low cost. The electro-optical element 100 is cloven in projecting surfaces and is separated.
