PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the original function of warning display while reducing troublesomeness of display at a display section and saving electric power. SOLUTION: A digital single-lens reflex camera 100 judges whether a predetermined time passes after the start of display and continues face detection when the predetermined time does not pass. When the face detection is performed, a system control circuit 50 discriminates current display contents and ceases normal image display, photographic information display, or even warning display of a level of attention attraction, however checks whether a switch operation is performed in warning display for photography inhibition. As the result of the check, when it is found that no switch operation is performed or a switch to cancel the warning display is not operated, timer counting is cleared and then restarted.
