PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving body detection device reduced in making an erroneous report. SOLUTION: The moving body detection device is provided with: a transmitter 1 for transmitting an ultrasonic wave to a detection region; a receiver 2 for receiving an ultrasonic wave transmitted by the transmitter 1, and reflected in the detection range; a quadrant dislocation determination circuit 14 for determining the existence/non-existence of a traveling object OB in the detection range based on the output of the receiver 2, and for generating an output corresponding to the decision result; an existence counting circuit 15 for fluctuating a counted value each time the existence of the traveling object OB is decided by the quadrant dislocation decision circuit 14; and an existence determination circuit 16 for outputting the detection signal when the absolute value of the counted value in the existence counting circuit 15 exceeds a predetermined threshold. Also, the traveling object detection device is provided with: a non-existence counting circuit 20 for counting the number of times when the non-existence of the traveling object OB is decided by the quadrant dislocation decision circuit 14; and a counted value subtraction circuit 21 for, when the counted value of the non-existence counting circuit 20 exceeds a predetermined value, setting the counted value of the existence counting means 15 as 0.
