The body has a crash box (4) provided at a front side (3) of a laterally running door sill (2) and partially made of aluminum or aluminum alloy. The crash box is partially seated or completely within an A-column (5) and/or C-column of a motor vehicle. The crash box is arranged at the front side of the door sill and/or at a lower side of the A-column of the motor vehicle in a firmly bonded manner. Reinforcement supports (7) are provided within a light metal extruding hollow section of the crash box. The supports are bent to a side surface (8) of the hollow section of the crash box.
