The oven has a cooking space with a thermal heating unit, and a control room (1) that is provided for electrical components. A housing (9) is provided for thermally high-stressed or heat-sensitive components e.g. microwave generator. The operating heat of the control room and the housing are dissipated through cooling air flows (12, 21). The flows for the control room and the housing are separately controlled or deactivated based on the operating heat with respect to their flow intensities.
