PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting edge exchange type cutting tip making abrasion resistance and tenacity highly compatible with each other and highly preventing peeling of a surface layer. SOLUTION: This cutting edge exchange type cutting tip has a base material and a covered layer, the covered layer includes an inner layer and an outer layer, each layer of the inner layer is formed of a specific layer including at least a kind of element selected from a group made of IVa group element, a Va group element, Vla group element, Al and Si, the outer layer is formed of an aluminum layer or a layer including aluminum and it constitutes its characteristic feature that A/B≤0.95 is satisfied when average thickness on the flank side is Aμm and average thickness on the rake face side is Bμm on a portion concerning cutting.
