PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external light-shielding layer capable of improving brightness, viewing angle and contrast ratio; to provide a display filter including the external light-shielding layer; and to provide a display apparatus including the display filter. SOLUTION: The external light-shielding layer comprises: a substrate made of a transparent resin; and wedge-shaped light-shielding patterns spaced apart from each other at predetermined intervals on one surface of the substrate, and made of a resin including a coloring agent having a concentration of 0.5 to 1.5 wt.%.
