PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mail server which reduces risk of an outflow of mail addresses by intrusion of an illegal program into a terminal. SOLUTION: An address book is held associatively with an account of each the terminal on the server side, and an address book selection means 10 selects the address book for the terminal on the basis of the account used in time of login with the terminal. Thus, by managing the address books which can not be used by the other terminals for every terminal on the server side, it is not necessary to hold the address book inside the terminal.
