Functional testing of nozzles in printing machine spray bar, compares measured quantity sprayed in given interval with desired values, giving an alarm when deficiency is detected

The quantity of wetting agent (3) delivered by the nozzle (1) in a given interval, is measured. The result is compared with a desired value. Nozzles in a spray bar (2) are tested individually or collectively. A meter (13) measures the quantity supplied in a feed line (12) to the spray bar. Measurements are taken over successive spraying cycles. Desired values of quantity sprayed in a delivery interval T1 and/or a closure interval T2, relating to one or more cycles, are stored in a control unit. An alarm is generated, should deficiency be detected.
