MAGNETIC SWITCH

A magnetic switch in which malfunction is reduced with a small number of components and the impact of temperature variation is suppressed. The magnetic switch comprises a fixed portion, a moving mechanism moving in parallel with the fixed portion, a pair of magnets (M1, M2) provided at any one of the fixed portion and the moving mechanism and generating external magnetic fields (H1, H2) of different polarities, a magnetoresistive effect element provided at the other of the fixed portion and the moving mechanism and consisting of one GMR element (10), a power supply section for supplying a predetermined current to the magnetoresistive effect element, and a section for comparing the output voltage from the magnetoresistive effect element with a predetermined threshold and outputting a switching signal based on the comparison results.
