PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the wasteful power consumption of a rechargeable battery, by understanding its state of charge. SOLUTION: A charge control device connects a PDA 3 and a mobile phone 2, which each have the rechargeable battery that can charge a current, and charges the battery by supplying a current of one rechargeable battery to the other one. In this device, the remaining capacity of the rechargeable battery of the PDA 3 and that of the mobile phone 2 are obtained and compared with each other. As a result of the comparison, the apparatus having larger remaining capacity is set as a master, and the other as a slave. The battery is charged by supplying the current of the master rechargeable battery to the slave one, and which of the PDA 3 and the mobile phone 2 is set as the slave is displayed on an LED panel 15.
