PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce the height of a magnetic field forming device, using solenoidal superconducting coils, while securing sufficient magnetic field strength and stable coil installation conditions. SOLUTION: A plurality of solenoidal superconducting coils 10 are arranged on one of sides across a magnetic field utilization space S, both in the horizontal and the vertical directions which are approximately perpendicular to the radial direction of the space S. A plurality of solenoidal superconducting coils 10 are arranged on the other side so as to sandwich, facing the coils 10 arranged on the former side across the space S.
