PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical reverberant sound reducing device which can easily achieve a sound environment easy to recognize the conversation of people clearly by shortening the reverberation time in office spaces. SOLUTION: Many small holes 16a are drilled through the front boards 16, 16 of a cabinet 1 placed in an office space. Then, the reverberation time is largely reduced in office spaces by forming a vibration system for the sound outside the cabinet 1 by utilizing the unused space in the cabinet 1 for the air layer of the sound impedance having many small holes 16a drilled on the front boards 16, 16, and thus building a sound absorption device having a high absorption rate around the resonant frequency and also effectively functioning in low-frequency ranges.
