METHOD FOR INHIBITING CORROSION OF CARBON STEEL, AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method more suitable for inhibiting corrosion of a carbon steel member constituting a plant and also to provide an apparatus for implementing the method. SOLUTION: In this method for inhibiting corrosion of carbon steel, a ferrite film is formed by bringing the followings into contact with the surface of a water-contacting part of a carbon steel member constituting a plant: a treatment solution containing iron (II) ions; a second oxidizing agent for oxidizing at least a part of the iron (II) ions into iron (III) ions; and a pH adjuster for adjusting the pH of a treatment solution as a mixture of a first agent and the above second agent to a value ranging from 5.5 to 9.0.
