AN AUTO BACK LASH TYPE DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY

A differential gear assembly for automatically compensating backlash is provided to closely mesh a side differential gear with a pinion by pushing the side differential gear against the pinion using a resilient member. Side differential gears(12) are mounted on upper and lower sides of a differential case(11), and are meshed with pinions(13) provided on a pinion shaft(14). Mounting holes are formed on upper and lower flat surfaces of the differential case at regular intervals. A backlash compensating biasing member(20) is mounted in each mounting hole to enable a resilient member washer to push a side washer(16) and a side differential gear at the same time.
