摘要 <p>An exhaust system (10) has first and second exhaust pipes (11-16) in whose opening area (21-23), the uniting first and second exhaust pipes span an angle less than 30[deg], preferably less than 20[deg]. This angle is spanned by the tangents at reference points of the inner wall (11a-16a) of the exhaust pipes. These reference points are defined by an amount, which is approximately half the diameter of the first and second exhaust pipe, upstream from a first points of intersection of both tangents. The second points of intersection of the two tangents with the inner wall of the second exhaust pipes (15, 16) or the manifold (17) around an amount downstream from the two tangents is provided, which is larger than the diameter (d3) of the second pipe or the manifold. A number of cylinders (1-4) are provided with a preferably one-piece exhaust pipe assembly with at least one first exhaust pipe per cylinder. Two first exhaust pipes of both cylinders, which do not immediately follow one another in the firing order, lead into a second exhaust pipe, and two second exhaust pipes lead into a common manifold. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a motor vehicle; (B) a cylinder head; (C) an inlet manifold; and (D) a tensioning device.</p>
