L : 1-12C aliphatic or alicyclic hydrocarbon chain (optionally saturated) (where C atoms are replaced by O or NR, not containing diazo, nitro, nitroso or peroxide groups and does not contain a heteroatom at terminals end); R : H or alkyl; R1 : 1-8C linear alkyl (optionally substituted by OH or alkoxy at the terminal end); R2 : H, halo, alkyl, alkoxy or NH2 (optionally substituted by 1-4C alkyls or OH); either R3 : 1-8C linear alkyl (optionally substituted with OH or alkoxy at the terminal end); or R3NL : 6-7 membered heterocyclic ring of formula (a); n : 1-2; and X->counter-ion. The composition has good coloring properties and stability against external agents, particularly against shampoos. #CMT#ORGANIC CHEMISTRY : #/CMT# Preferred Components: (I) or (II) is present at 0.01-20 wt.%. The non-fluorescent direct dye is nitrated benzene-, azo-, azomethine-, methane-, anthraquinone-, naphtoquinone-, benzoquinone-, phenotiazine-, indigoid-, xanthene-, phenanthridine-, phthalocyanine- and/or triarylmethane dye or their derivatives. The oxidation base is p-phenylenediamine, bisphenylalkylenediamine, p-aminophenols, o-aminophenols, heterocyclic bases or their additive salts of an acid or a base. The coupler is m-phenylenediamine, m-aminophenol, m-diphenol, heterocyclic coupler or additive salts of an acid or a base. The oxidant is hydrogen peroxide, urea peroxide, alkaline metal bromates, persalts or enzymes.
