<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The device has a camera (4) oriented towards an object to be inspected (2) and for acquiring an image of a visible surface (11) of the object. A polyhedric optic (5) is arranged between the object and the camera and has internal and external surfaces (50, 51) arranged around a line of sight (9) of the camera. The surfaces permit two reflections of light radiated by a hidden surface (12), not visible through the camera, of the object for transmitting the light towards the camera. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used in an inspection installation for inspecting an object (claimed) such as agri-food e.g. fruits or vegetables and manufactured articles e.g. bottles, cans, glasses, fastening parts or packages, circulating on a conveyor chain e.g. belt conveyor, carousel or robotized skid, for detecting fabrication defects, assisting spatial orientation and positioning of the object, inspecting theft of the object in machining and lathe centers. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The internal and external surfaces of the optic permits two reflections of the light radiated by the hidden surface of the object for transmitting the light towards the camera, so that the object is observed under an inclination close to 70 degrees, thus enabling the device to permit the arrangement of the object near the optic, and hence rendering the device compact. The device is therefore easily installed on the conveyor chain even by non specialist of optical system.
