The device has a connection unit (11) mounted above a case (2) of an optical block and pivoting around a fixed vertical axis. A guiding unit is placed behind the case for facilitating its lateral tilting towards the exterior of a motor vehicle during a frontal impact. The connection unit is formed by a part (12) having an S shaped longitudinal section, and the guiding unit is formed by a roller carried by a technical front face.
