<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic jam prediction device capable of predicting whether there will be an occurrence of traffic jam based on an actual traffic volume. <P>SOLUTION: The device comprises a traffic volume calculation part 11 for calculating a traffic volume of vehicles travelling on an express way for one minute, and a traffic jam prediction part 13 for extracting the traffic volume of one minute obtained by the traffic volume calculation part in a time-series manner, and predicting whether there will be an occurrence of traffic jam. The traffic jam prediction part determines that traffic jam will occur if the traffic volume is 40 vehicles or more per minute in continuing two minutes, and 30 vehicles or more per minute in continuing three minutes following the two minutes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
