<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a chance to determine a malfunction of an air-fuel ratio sensor. <P>SOLUTION: In the vehicle, a first motor, an engine, and a drive shaft are respectively connected to a sun gear, a carrier, and a ring gear of a planetary gear mechanism, and a second motor is connected to the drive shaft. When the engine is rotating in a fuel cut state, an air-fuel ratio is detected by the air-fuel ratio sensor attached to an exhaust system of the engine, and a malfunction of the air-fuel ratio sensor is determined by determining whether or not the detected air-fuel ratio is within a normal range. When a stopping condition is satisfied, of stopping driving (rotating) of the engine during malfunction determination of the air-fuel ratio sensor (S300, S310), fuel cut of the engine is continued until the determination is finished, and the engine is motored by the first motor (S330), and driving of the engine is stopped when the malfunction determination is finished (S320).
