<p>A centrifugal separator and a method of using such a centrifugal separator (1) that comprises a bowl (2) for the liquid that is to be separated, the method comprising feeding the liquid to be separated into the bow (2), removing the separated liquid from the inner part (7) of the bowl, periodically removing slag from the outer pan (6) of the bowl during emptying cycles, measuring the pressure of the separated liquid that has been removed from the bowl (2), and triggering an alarm, if after the alarm delay subsequent to the emptying cycle, the pressure of the separated liquid that was removed from the bowl (2) is below a preset limit value. The volume flow of the liquid fed into the bowl (2) and separated is defined, and the duration of the alarm delay is adjusted on the basts of the volume flow of the liquid to be separated.</p> |
