PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize a space as a heat radiating space for a heat generating part after a moving section to be moved from a storage position to a use position when in use is moved and to effectively radiate heat. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 1 comprises an imaging lens 20, an imaging element which converts an optical image formed through the imaging lens into an electric signal, a recording unit 30 which records the electric image signal output from the imaging element on a recording medium, a signal processing unit which processes various signals, a liquid crystal panel 50 for display which displays an image, and a battery 60 which supplies electric power to respective units. The liquid crystal panel for display or battery is configured as the moving section to be moved from a storage space 70 to a prescribed use position when in use, and the space enclosed with a plurality of heat generation units, such as the imaging element, signal processing unit, recording unit, battery, etc., which are accompanied by heat generation is used as the storage space for the moving section. The storage space serves as a heat radiation space for heat generated by the heat generating sections when the moving section is moved to the prescribed use position where the moving section is drawn out from the storage position.
