An industrial punch (10) has a cylindrical sleeve guide (12) around a sliding driver (16) and terminating in a punch tool (14). The distance between the driver and linked tool is adjustable. The tool (14) is located within a socket (17) whose position is axially variable within the sleeve guide (12). The socket (17) is linked to the driver (16) by a corresponding screw thread. Either the driver (16) or the socket (17) is fixed within the sleeve guide. Either the socket or the driver in the sleeve guide has a manually removable twist lock.
