<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the deterioration of a toner image forming surface and also to surely peel a printing medium from the toner image forming surface. <P>SOLUTION: When margin amount R on the leading edge side of paper P is smaller than necessary margin amount Rth in secondary transfer (S108), a separation pawl is brought into contact with a transfer belt when contact start timing T comes (S112). Thus, the leading edge of the paper P is easily peeled from the transfer belt by the separation pawl. Meanwhile, after the leading edge of the paper P is peeled from the transfer belt (S114), the separation pawl is separated from the transfer belt (S116). Thus, the separation pawl is prevented from wearing or damaging the transfer belt. By bringing the separation pawl into contact with the transfer belt only when judging it as necessary based on printing data, the paper P is surely peeled from the transfer belt while restraining the deterioration of the transfer belt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
