PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce burden on worker, and to automatically prepare a required number of sliced samples from each embedded block while suitably changing each embedded block. SOLUTION: This automatically sliced sample preparing apparatus 1 comprises a cabinet 2 for storing a plurality of embedded blocks where biological samples are embedded by an embedding agent, a cutting means 3 for cutting the embedded block at a predetermined thickness to provide a slice, a first conveying means 4 for handling one selected embedded block from the cabinet and conveying it to a cutting position by the cutting means, a second conveying means 7 for conveying the slice to a reservoir tub for reserving liquid and floating it on the liquid surface, a transferring means 8 for transferring the slice floated on the liquid surface onto a substrate to prepare a sliced sample, and a control section 9 for controlling the first conveying means so that a required number of slices are cut from the embedded block, then the embedded block is returned to the cabinet, and a next selected embedded block is taken out of the cabinet and conveyed to the cutting position.
