PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus which can alarm abnormality of light quantity during performance of automatic light quantity regulation. SOLUTION: Automatic light quantity regulation by opening/closing of an aperture 31 is performed at intervals of 1/60 seconds and data of aperture opening varied matching the automatic light quantity regulation are temporarily stored in a RAM in every one second as frequency distribution data. Whether a rate of large aperture opening is larger or not as compared to a prescribed rate is judged once in 6 minutes. When the rate is larger than the prescribed rate, abnormality is judged to exist in light quantity and an alarm is displayed on a monitor 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
