A procedure for controlling the starting of a drive unit for a car with a gearbox, at least one clutch, a hand brake, a brake pedal, a gear shift lever and a control unit for automatic clutch engagement has the following steps. (a) A first signal is released to the control unit when the hand brake is pulled or the brake pedal is pressed. (b) A second signal is given to the control unit when the gear shift lever is operated. (c) The clutch is disengaged when the control unit gets the above two signals. Before step (a) there is a prior step, namely the switching on of the control unit when the car door is opened for a certain time. |
