A control circuit of a DC-DC converter and a control method thereof are provided to detect an abnormal voltage exceeding the control range based on a predetermined voltage level of an error output signal by amplifying a difference voltage between a reference voltage and a detection voltage which is detected according to an output voltage. A control circuit of a DC-DC converter includes an error amplifier(ERA1), a detection unit(50), a signal determination unit(60), and a time counter(70). The error amplifier(ERA1) has a reverse input terminal to which a detection voltage detected according to an output voltage is inputted, and a non-inverse input terminal to which a reference voltage is inputted. The error amplifier(ERA1) amplifies a difference voltage between the detection voltage and the reference voltage. The detection unit(50) detects an error output signal of the error amplifier(ERA1) of a predetermined voltage level. The signal determination unit(60) determines whether the predetermined voltage level is deviated from a normal operation range. The time counter(70) counts how long the predetermined voltage level is deviated from the normal operation range.
