A liquid supply assembly (30) for use with a printing system of a type in which a liquid is deposited from the liquid supply assembly (30) in a receiving region on a plate (20) and any excess of the liquid in the receivi ng region is scraped from the plate (20) by the liquid supply assembly (30). To this end, the liquid supply assembly(30) employs a reusable cup(40), a disposable cup insert (50) and a scraping element (SO). As assembled, the reusable cup (40) includes a reusable liquid reservoir (44), the disposable cup insert (50) includes a temporary liquid reservoir (54) holding the liqui d within the reusable liquid reservoir (44), and the scraping element (60) includes a conduit (61) facilitating a flow of the liquid held by the temporary liquid reservoir (54) through the conduit to the plate (20).</SDOA B>
