Disclosed is a novel method for preventing or reducing color deterioration or discoloration of a base over time. This method is characterized by arranging at least one positively charged material, which is selected from the group consisting of (1) positive ions, (2) a positively charged conductive body or dielectric body and (3) a composite body of a conductive body and a dielectric body or semiconductor body, on the surface of the base and further arranging an insulating organic or inorganic material on the positively charged material.
