The method involves automatically activating a transmission path for a time period in which a wide-band transmission path is provided, and determining the type of data to be transmitted. The transmission path suitable for the data type is determined such that accessibility of receivers is determined one after another over an individual transmission path. The data are transmitted over an active transmission path. A new transmission path is determined when the receiver is accomplished over the determined transmission path.
