<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser module that can improve the operating characteristics of a semiconductor laser by efficiently raising the temperature of the semiconductor laser, without impairing its heat radiating property. <P>SOLUTION: The coaxial laser module 100 has the semiconductor laser 12, and a heat sink 11, having a laser mount surface 11a where the semiconductor laser, is mounted. A resistor 30 is formed on the laser-mounting surface. When a current is supplied to the resistor 30, the resistor generates heat to heat the semiconductor laser. Consequently, when the laser module is made to operate especially at low temperatures, the operation characteristics of the semiconductor laser can be improved by making its temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
