PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently provide players with the information out of a large amount of information to meet the needs of the players by displaying the information required by the players in a quickly understandable manner.

SOLUTION: The information providing device capable of transmitting and receiving data through a portable terminal with an imaging means and a communication circuit is provided with a memory means for storing many pieces of strategic information useful for players in the execution of games on a game machine, a receiving means which receives code information as counter information coded corresponding to each piece of strategic information stored in the memory means to be displayed on a display means provided on the game machine and the counter information taken by the imaging means from the portable terminal and a transmitting means which transmits one piece of strategic information corresponding to the counter information received by the receiving means to the portable terminal.
